About Me

My Tea Journey

I’m Adam, originally from California. I moved to Taiwan in 2006 to teach English and have lived here ever since. Over that time, tea has been a constant in my life—what began as curiosity developed into a long-term pursuit shaped by daily immersion in the culture where these traditions originate.

Coming from the West but learning about tea while living in Taiwan, my understanding developed through direct experience. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours drinking tea with teachers, shop owners, collectors, and seasoned drinkers, learning in the way tea has traditionally been passed down.

My focus eventually settled on puer, which remains at the center of what I offer today, alongside other teas I’ve come to appreciate over time.

Sourcing Tea in Taiwan

Living in Taiwan and working in Mandarin allows me to source tea directly from local suppliers. Being on the ground here provides access that is difficult to reach from outside the region.

Over time, I’ve come to act as a bridge between tea drinkers abroad and suppliers who rarely work with foreign buyers. It’s a role I value and one I’ve grown into naturally.

Taiwan has an unusually large and diverse puer market, with collectors, shops, and wholesalers offering a wide range of teas. Most are unremarkable. My role is to sort through that abundance—tasting across many sources, often side by side—and select teas that stand out.

Selected for the Experience

Tea quality can be evaluated in objective ways, but the experience of drinking it is ultimately personal.

When selecting teas, I consider both. I look closely at origin, processing, storage, and other technical factors—but just as importantly, I focus on how the tea feels to drink: its depth, balance, and overall character.

The teas I offer are the result of this process. Each one reflects my own path in tea over the past two decades, selected with care and intention. My hope is that they offer not just quality, but a meaningful experience in the cup.
